The lunar mansion
Nourishment · care · steady fortune
Pushya is one of the zodiac's most protective stars. It is associated with nurture, learning, generosity and the slow accumulation of good.
Where it sits in the zodiac
Pushya spans 13°20′. It begins in Cancer and ends in the same sign. Because nakshatras do not align with sign boundaries, a planet in a sign can be carrying the flavour of two different lunar mansions.
The four padas
Each nakshatra is divided into four padas of 3°20′. The pada adds a further layer of nuance and is used in divisional charts such as the navamsa.
Pada 13° 20′ Cancer — 6° 40′ Cancer
Pada 26° 40′ Cancer — 10° 00′ Cancer

The ruling planet
Pushya is ruled by Saturn, the planet of karma · time, structure, mastery. The dasha sequence begins from this planet when your Moon is in this nakshatra.
