Vimshottari dasha · the planetary clock
See the season you are in.
Vimshottari dasha is a 120-year cycle built from the position of your Moon at birth. It gives each planet a long season, then divides that season into smaller chapters. It is the backbone of Vedic timing.

What a dasha is not
A dasha is not a countdown to a fixed event. It describes a planetary weather system: which themes are emphasised, which rooms of the chart are lit, and what kind of effort tends to be rewarded.
Two people can share a Saturn mahadasha and have completely different experiences, because the dasha is read alongside the natal chart, the antardasha and the way each person meets their circumstances.
The mahadasha is the long season. The antardasha is a sub-season inside it. A useful reading always mentions both: Saturn's season may be softened by a Venus sub-season, or intensified by Mars.
