Manglik · Mars in relationship houses
Check Manglik, without the verdict.
Manglik is a traditional flag around Mars. It is not a certificate of bad luck or an automatic obstacle to marriage. A useful reading asks where Mars sits, how it is aspected, and what the whole chart is doing.
- Mars from lagna and the Moon

What the label actually means
A chart is often called Manglik when Mars occupies the 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house from the rising sign or from the Moon. Some traditions also count from Venus. The reasoning is that Mars brings heat, urgency and conflict into the houses associated with partnership and domestic life.
But Mars is also courage, protection and the capacity to set a boundary. The same placement can describe a relationship that needs honesty and directness rather than one doomed to fail.
Traditional texts discuss cancellations and exceptions, and teachers disagree on the details. AstroYoda reports the basic flag and then sends you back to the full chart. It does not use Manglik to decide whether a marriage should happen.
